The customer master data had been stored for years in a legacy ERP platform with a Microsoft-based database. The migration to SAP ECC had to happen under a tight go-live window, with multiple projects running in parallel.
More than 70,000 customer records needed to be extracted, transformed and aligned with the complex SAP customer model (general data, company code views, sales area data, partner functions and Z-fields) — while keeping business operations running without disruption.

Why the legacy approach was no longer enough
